Michelle Bodo,
Speech-Language Pathologist
M.Sc., Reg. CASLPO
I have been working with children who have communication delays and disorders for nearly 20 years. While completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Waterloo, I worked part-time as an instructor therapist, providing Intensive Behavioural Intervention to children with Autism. I then went on to complete my training in speech-language pathology at the University of Western Ontario, where I obtained a Master’s of Science. I am registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
Throughout my practice, I have had the opportunity to help a variety of children. I have worked with late talkers, children who have speech sound delays, those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and children with language and literacy difficulties. I have experience working with both preschool and school-aged children and their families. In addition, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with many different professionals.
I am passionate about communication and am dedicated to helping children communicate to the best of their abilities. This may come in the form of improving a child's articulation (speech sound) skills, helping a child say his or her first word, or teaching a child to behave appropriately in a social situation. I always include parents in my treatment sessions and my ultimate goal is always to teach parents the skills they need to help their children be better communicators. I truly love my job, and I am constantly learning new things from the children and families with whom I work.
